My name is Jenni Lunn (owner of Aberfal Seaglass), and for the past 4 months I have been creating seaglass artwork in the heart of Cornwall in the UK.
I collect seaglass because it brings me closer to nature (and the sea!), but also because it makes me focus on just one thing at a time instead of worrying about a ton of things that are out of my control. It’s a very relaxing activity.
Since I was a child, I have always had a passion for the sea and nature in general, and as I’ve grown older I have developed a love for houseplants. I began a houseplant collection at the beginning of my parents’ divorce in 2019, and by looking after these plants I felt that I was also looking after myself.
Because of this deep and emotional connection with nature and houseplants, when I started creating seaglass artwork in September 2020, I felt the need to portray my love for all things plant-related - hence where my very popular houseplant designs originated from!
I personally believe being around nature as a whole has a very healing effect on humans, and so by producing artwork containing images of the sea or common plants, I like to think of my art having a ‘healing’ effect too.
